Sydney South East Psychiatry provides specialist psychiatric services to adults in the Sydney metropolitan area. All consultations are conducted by a consultant psychiatrist and require a GP referral.
Psychiatric Assessment
Comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of mental health conditions, including detailed history-taking, mental state examination, and formulation of a management plan.
Medication Management
Review and ongoing management of psychiatric medications, including initiation, titration, and monitoring of treatment response and side effects.
Psychotherapy
Evidence-based psychological therapies delivered within a psychiatric framework, tailored to the individual's diagnosis and clinical needs.
Second Opinion
Independent psychiatric assessment for patients or treating clinicians seeking a specialist review of diagnosis or treatment approach.
Medico-Legal Reports
Preparation of psychiatric reports for legal, insurance, and WorkCover purposes, including independent medical examinations.
WorkCover
Assessment and management of work-related psychological injuries, including liaison with treating teams and preparation of required documentation.
Telepsychiatry
Psychiatric consultations conducted via secure video link for patients unable to attend in person, subject to clinical suitability.
Clinical Approach
Assessment and treatment at this practice are guided by a biopsychosocial framework, taking into account the biological, psychological, and social factors relevant to each patient's presentation. Management plans are developed collaboratively with the patient and, where appropriate, in liaison with their GP and other treating clinicians. Pharmacological treatment is considered alongside psychological and social interventions, and is not prescribed in isolation.
A current GP referral is required for all new appointments. Medicare rebates are available for eligible patients.
